In this painting I depicted abarnowl in front of his tree cave. The frame is also painted with acryl and oil and is now a part of the artwork. I depict nature as a universum parallel to the human world. Humans have been in the spotlight for too long now. It's time to focus on the parallel universum of animals in the vicinity. I have painted many species of animals, especially birds, that I spotted during nature walks in my country, the Netherlands. For example the different woodpeckers, the wren, the long-eared owl, the kingfisher or the yellow wagtail near a stream. They all figure in my paintings, drawings and ceramics. I try to make my works function as a mirror; 'What are we actually doing with the one and only world in which we live?'
