British-Italian artist inspired by Italian architecture. With a passion for Italian cityscapes and culture - Venice and Rome are particular favourites. Watercolours are often used more as oils, with underpainting and layering, plus additional charcoal, pastel, gouache or ink in an undefined style. Images provoke mystery in bold palettes of pure colour, fluctuating between minimal and ornate. The rare inclusion of figures sees them fade into the paintings like ghosts from a bygone era, while buildings and objects hint at a secret inner life. Recent work is more personal and will be displayed in early 2024.
