CONTACT: . Live and work in New York City. Exhibitionist. Theatre Artist. Hustler. David has decided to remove himself from the studio setting in pursuit of the Art of Living. He is dedicating his senses to progress beyond the creation of objects toward a time of Transurealium. His work in the 20teens saw him painting on background settings that have come from a previous purpose. An idea that is driven by recycling, he has painted on random boards picked out of the garbage. David incorporated campfire wood charcoal on used muslin. Each piece of garbage is chosen for it's unique condition, elevating the piece to an aesthetic level one step away from Art. David has produced nude figure paintings his entire career including a series he calls " 20% OFF ". Using the Exquisite Corpse method he seeks to analyse these images, if considered vile as completed, can be seen for their surreal beauty when the lower 20% is covered, to appear unfinished and left to your imagination. Of his work focused in color theory and photo-negative, it has been innovative; developing a unique surreal metamorphosis he calls "Transurrealism", beyond the surreal. David performed "Model American" for Getty Images in Times Square during the broadcast of Barack Obama's victory speech Nov.5th, 2008. "My paintings are merely a prepared surface that I have polished with colored oil until a beautiful image appears. Pop Surrealism and a merciless realist, I have clarity in my surreal narrative. Imagination is a vast blank space to creatively challenge perception. Creating becomes as sensual as the art itself with balance of touch and the rush of feelings."
