'As a Northwest Native, James E. Dunbar is currently best known for his cityscapes featuring many of the bridges and local landmarks in Portland, Oregon. While not limiting his subject matter to cityscapes alone, he is passionate in painting many different subjects including Tuscan scenery, jazz and blues artists, coastal sunsets, and animals of the Serengeti. His heavily sculptured oils and bold use of color composition have earned him the reputation of a highly sought after commissioned artist. Answering the call to re-create memories etched in the hearts and minds of many art lovers and collectors alike, his body of commissioned work stretches from Seattle to San Diego, including some West Coast communities, San Francisco, Chicago and New York. He has been featured in several Portland area galleries including Forever Art, Schaffer's Fine Art Gallery, and the Lawrence Gallery in Sheridan Oregon's wine country. He and his wife enjoy participating in the Northwest Art Festivals when time allows, and his work is represented weekly at the Portland International World Market.' - James E. Dunbar -
