Israeli artist living in Russia and Israel. Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, on 11 April 1962.

Rami Meir adheres to philosophical aesthetics in his artwork. Through his art, he turns the thoughts and senses of the man of today to his roots, to unalterable essences of things and the true world, to creation and the Creator.
He thus pulls us out of misbelief, illusion, and quest for achievement.

Another parallel direction of Rami Meir’s art practice is historical retrospective on Mountain Jews.

He gained global recognition with his Mountain Jews series that comprise over 30 artworks based on documentary materials (old postcards and photographs) about life and daily activities of Mountain Jews living in the Caucasus and Transcaucasia.

The faces, character, cloth fabrics and textures of Mountain Jews depicted in his paintings are the result of his detailed studies.

Rami Meir’s artworks draw on real life, since he is certain that “nature is perfect, there's everything in it already, we just need to see the beauty.”

Rami Meir’s artworks are in private collections in Russia, USA, and Israel, as well as in the collection of the State Museum of Oriental Art (Russia).
