Raquel García

My work focuses on realistic portraits, capturing the human essence through watercolor, colored pencils, and oils. I find endless inspiration in love, particularly the passionate expression of it through the female form. To me, painting is an intimate, physical experience where the materiality of color and texture is as vital as the subject itself. My influences range from the luminous works of Sorolla to the emotional depth of Schiele and the delicate beauty of Larsson. Art has always been more than a vocation—it's my life. Despite my years as an art director in advertising, the compelling need to express myself through painting has been more powerful than any career path. Creating art is a necessity, not a choice. Looking ahead, my goal is to achieve a harmonious fusion between my deep emotional expression and my evolving technical abilities, continually striving to make my art resonate with both heart and skill.
