I am from Taiwan, an island rich in natural beauty. I lived in Los Angeles from 2009 to 2011, and some of my art reflects my experiences in the USA.
My journey with art began at the age of 8. From ages 12 to 20, I honed my skills in various art studios and schools. My practice primarily focuses on Western art, encompassing photography and sculpture.
I have always loved painting and drawing. Even during my childhood classes—whether in mathematics or history—I would often be found sketching on my textbooks, desks, and walls.
One of my favorite mediums is black-and-white photography. My extensive experience with charcoal drawing has deepened my appreciation for the expressive power of monochrome. Capturing the essence of a flower or the vastness of a landscape in black and white allows me to evoke deep emotions and a timeless quality. However, finding the perfect subject and conveying the right feeling can be challenging. I often spend hours perfecting a single photograph, knowing that a well-crafted black-and-white image can inspire and calm viewers, leaving a lasting impression much like a charcoal drawing.

Education and Artistic Journey-
Sanzhi Chieh developed a passion for art at the age of 8, exploring charcoal, watercolor, and oil painting throughout middle and high school. Formal training in Western art techniques continued under the guidance of esteemed artists Lin Yao-sheng and Rei-Ming Jhou in Taiwan before the age of 20.
Through continued self-directed study, Sanzhi Chieh's artistic repertoire now encompasses a wide range of mediums, including photography, oil painting, mixed media, digital art, and NFTs. Sanzhi Chieh is also expanding their style from classic to abstract contemporary art.
The ultimate goal is to create large-scale paintings that leave a lasting impact on the audience, establishing artistic landmarks and making a positive contribution to the art world.
