Sarah Muscalu (1994) is an artist with a practice engaged in a post-medial discourse, one of the main interests of her artistic research being the post-socialist and post-industrial condition of the Eastern Europe from a critical and discursive point of view.
Sarah has a PhD in Visual Arts at the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design, "George Enescu" National University of Arts in Iași, Romania.
Some of her works are part of the Romanian National Museum of Contemporary Art`s collection.
Sarah Muscalu defended her doctoral thesis in visual arts at the "George Enescu" National University of Arts in Iași, Romania, in 2021. Between 2016 and 2018, she followed a M.A. program in Painting and a M.A. program in Theories and Practices in the Visual Arts and between 2013-2016 followed a B.A. program in Painting and History and Theory of Art at the same „George Enescu” National University of the Arts.

Sarah Muscalu was the curator for "Origamic" (Aparte Gallery, Iaşi, 2015) and "Reprocessing Memory" (Victoria Gallery, Iaşi, 2018), followed in 2019 by the show "Post-photographic Narratives" (W.A.S.P. Bucharest).
