I've loved photography from a young age and was the one in the family growing up carrying a camera. In High School my love for photography grew as I took Photography for 2 years and got to delve into the darkroom. My love for the film SLR, and then the DSLR, naturally led to more computer involvement and my now additional love of Digital Art. I can spend hours using Photoshop and other digital programs editing, altering and enhancing my original photographs, or other source imagery, to create wonderful art that is a valued personal expression. I've always been very visual, and I often get excited over something that catches my eye as I'm driving down the road and I just need to pull over and get a closer look and a photograph. My iPhone has come in handy many times. I'm a bit scattered in my focus however, because so many things, from the seasons and holidays, to interesting people, to cityscapes and landscapes, to the textures and shapes that pop in the right lighting, and more, catch my eye and cry for my attention. Without a lot of formal schooling in the arts, and with my rather scattered and sometimes undisciplined and sporadic approach to my art, due to ADHD, OCD, etc. I am definitely a flawed artist. Have 2 years at the University of Utah in General Studies, though never got a degree. Have taken several Graphic Design classes at the Community College and Photography correspondence courses at the NY Institute of Photography. I now regret that I was never focused enough and sufficiently self-aware in my younger years to finish college with a Graphic Design/Photography Degree. At 65, I'm thinking about still getting that degree.
