Toyin Alabi

I am a self taught Nigerian artist. Over the years, I have been able to create a number of evocative pieces through pure love for art, self development and dedication to attain a much needed balance between structural composition and selection of colours that gave birth to my abstract work.
My technique evolves from an aggressive use of tools such as artist and painter's brushes, pallet knives, wooden sticks, pastel etc to load, blend, etch, scrape or smudge medium on canvas/silk, the result is an intriguingly intense and delicate mixture of colours which defines my identity.
