Ursika Bear

Hi,

Let me introduce myself, I am Jessica Pliez / Ursika. I was born in Montreuil (93) in 1984. I spent my childhood in Clos Saint Lazare in Stains (93) which I left when I was 13 years old. Then, I moved a lot for differents reasons and now I live in Germany, in Berlin. I studied Plastic Arts and I have a degree from the University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne.

I draw a character, a Two-headedbearess. It is inspired by my childhood and represents something sacred, a protective spirit. This bear is called Ruka Karu which means the house bear.
This Two-headedbearess was born from trauma. She explores dreamlike worlds to confront her pain and regain her form.

She is a heroine of fears and symbolize protective strength.



My inspirations are rooted in the history of the bear and the myths that surround it, Japanese culture, video games, cinema, nature, Expressionism...
