Born in Bogotá in 1976, Valeriano Lanchas is a celebrated opera singer and visual artist.
He made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York in 2015 with Il Barbiere di Siviglia and has performed in the world’s most prestigious theaters. Trained at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia under Armen Boyagian, he is a winner of the 2001 Operalia competition and has shared the stage with legends like Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti.
While excelling on the global opera stage, Lanchas cultivated a lifelong passion for drawing, using art as a medium to explore imagination and creativity beyond music. In 2020, he decided to share this deeply personal side of his artistry with the world. His work blends meticulous detail with whimsical and dreamlike elements, offering a glimpse into a world shaped by the rhythm of music and the vibrancy of life on stage.
Through ink and watercolor, Lanchas invites viewers into his universe—where creatures, emotions, and stories come to life in bold, imaginative strokes. Each piece reflects the soul of a performer and creator, making his art a must-have for collectors seeking a unique fusion of music and visual storytelling.
