Mitbegründer der Gruppe "Kunstasyl", Teilnahme an zahlreichen nationalen und internationalen Projekten und Ausstellungen als Maler. Projekt "Bildende Klänge" in Zusammenarbeit mit Astrid Schmeling und Matthias Kaul, Kinder und Jugendprojekte, 1998 Gründung einer eigenen Malschule. 10 Jahre lang war Wolfgang Kahle Initiator der "Winsener Kulturtage". 2012 Aufenthalt in China (Kunst-Reflektion). Performance 50 Jahre Fluxus (Zuhören in Winsen). Das von Kahle gestaltete CD Projekt „haltbar gemacht“ des Ensembles L’ART POUR L’ART erhielt einen Echo Klassik und den Jahrespreis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik. 2013 Kaul/Kahle Performance (Kassel, Alte Brüderkirche).
