Artist Statement – Abstract Faith-Inspired Mini Collection


I create abstract mixed-media paintings that explore faith, emotion, and spiritual growth. My style combines bold colors, layered textures, and dynamic movement to evoke reflection, hope, and transformation.



This mini collection of original 1/1 pieces captures moments of spiritual struggle and triumph, illustrating the journey of faith, resilience, and divine connection. Each work represents a unique exploration of risk, beauty, and the balance between inner contemplation and outward expression.



I primarily work with acrylic paints and mixed media, emphasizing texture and depth to convey energy and emotion. My inspiration comes from personal faith, observation of the world, and abstract expressionists and spiritual artists who explore the intangible through form and color.



As a composer of spiritual music, I often draw on rhythm, harmony, and emotional flow to inform the movement, layering, and mood of my paintings, creating a dialogue between sound and color.

Richard J. Spasoff’s creative and spiritual journey began long before formal training. Even as a young child—around four or five years old—he felt the loving presence and energy of God and Jesus guiding his life. During moments of illness and hardship, their voice brought comfort and purpose. His faith was not taught; it was experienced through the Holy Spirit, forming the foundation of his art and music.



Richard began exploring abstraction early, photographing textures, reflections, and light before he ever attended school. By his early teens, he was developing his own photos and creating expressive, faith-inspired imagery. He later studied privately in music theory for several years under a personal tutor, which deepened his understanding of harmony and structure. Guided by divine inspiration, he began composing spiritually centered relaxation music and expanding his creative vision through digital and mixed-media art.



His experience also includes work as a police and news photographer, where he learned to see life’s truth and emotion through the lens. My journey has been one of deep spiritual preparation—years of growth, reflection, and discovery guided by God.
