Daniel Svante

Daniel Svante is a British abstract expressionist painter whose large-scale, vibrant canvases pulse with colour, intensity, and feeling. For nearly a decade he has worked as a professional artist, exhibiting widely and gaining interest from collectors in London, Venice, Chicago, and Warsaw. Educated at the Universities of Parma and Bologna, and later spending time in Florence under the influence of Silvio Loffredo — himself a pupil of Oskar Kokoschka — Svante’s early formation was shaped by the legacies of European expressionism. From rapid figurative sketches exploring states of being, he moved into oil painting as his primary medium, carrying forward the spirit of the expressionist masters while forging a distinct and contemporary voice.

His practice is fuelled by human feeling — raw, unfiltered, urgent. He paints to music that electrifies the senses, chasing that moment when sound, gesture, and pigment collapse into one flow. Writing streams of subconscious text alongside his studio work, he taps into the chaos beneath language and uses it to propel his mark-making.
