Brothers Petro (b. 1998) and Arkadii Martyniuk (b. 2000) are contemporary artists based in Saxony, near Dresden, Germany. Both are graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, specializing in fine arts. Petro earned his Master’s degree in Painting in 2024, graduating with highest honors. His work is characterized by bold, large-scale abstract pieces created with acrylics, spray paint, and collage, often drawing inspiration from pop culture, street art, and personal experience. Petro's artistic practice intersects with his identity as an openly gay individual, giving his work a unique layer of personal expression and social commentary. Arkadii’s figurative practice, deeply influenced by cubism, explores themes of everyday life, human narratives, and the socio-cultural realities of Eastern Europe. His approach merges traditional techniques with contemporary sensibilities to convey rich, emotive storytelling. Both brothers have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, a condition that profoundly influences their art, offering a distinct perspective and emotional depth to their creations. Their work has been exhibited internationally, with pieces held in private collections across Europe, the USA, and Asia. In 2024, Petro was recognized as an Artist Bestseller by Singulart. Together, the Martyniuk brothers fuse abstraction and narrative figuration in a dynamic creative dialogue, pushing boundaries and offering a fresh, introspective view of contemporary life and identity.
