This field is under a mile from my studio. It comes to life in July and August and is absolutley breathtaking. I took this photo last summer whilst walking in the fields. It is such a peaceful and the smell of lavender is wonderful. I felt inspired to paint this beautiful place as I pass it everyday...

I have over 25 years experience as an artist. I started painting in Ireland as a teenager and went on to study art and design in Kilkenny and Waterford Art Colleges. I moved to London in my early 20s and spent 10 years working in the jewellery business. I left work to look after my young family and studied interior design. I took up painting again after a number of years. Oil painting has now become one of the main focuses of my life. My paintings are all about vibrant colours, texture, shade and light. I get inspiration from our travels around abroad.
