My work is defined by monochromatic portraits set against minimal backgrounds. I began working in black and white because I was drawn to the softness and tonal depth of pencil drawings, and I wanted to capture that same feeling through painting. By stripping away distractions, I focus attention on expression, form, and the subtle nuances of light and shadow.
