Daniel Sanchez Davey

i was born in Peru in 1978 and i live now in Chile. I studied Arts in Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. I am assistant in an artist studio and I teach Painting in university and in my personal studio. Im am a painter, i work since a very long time mixing sinthetic materials with traditional oil on canvas, painting scenes with simbolic, sexual, religious elements that make an ambiguous narrative image. My inspirations are the gothic religious paintings mixed with pop and kitsch and everything about human figure. I have been influencied by Eric Fischl, Balthus, Peter Doig, John Currin and Lucian Freud. I'm also working with barroco latinamerican barroco looklike compositions, colors and themes.

I studied Visual Arts in Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, now studying a postgrade Magister in Visual Arts.
