"Prismatic Galah" Painting

I'm a proud Indigenous Australian with Torres Strait Islander roots, and my art is a window into my rich ancestry. My work spans a range of styles, from dot paintings to sketches and abstract pieces, each one reflecting my unique perspective. I honour my heritage while also exploring new artistic expressions. In my dot paintings, I love experimenting with texture and dimension. When I use oil paint, the dots have peaks and shapes that give the artwork a distinctive, tactile quality. With acrylic paint, the dots are flat, offering a different but equally captivating effect. I also create art that blends traditional elements with modern designs. My pieces often feature Australian wildlife and scenes, depicted in a stylized way with bold colours and patterns. I mix real and mythical elements sometimes to honour my heritage while adding a contemporary twist. My abstract work is all about conveying movement and emotion through fluid forms and vibrant colors. These pieces capture the dynamic energy of the natural world, offering a different perspective compared to my more common work. Nature is a huge inspiration for me. I use patterns, bright colours, and expressive lines to evoke a sense of connection and wonder. I want to see the wonders of my ancestry and let these experiences inspire new creations.
