Sheela Rose Love is a Philadelphia-based contemporary artist whose vibrant, textured works invite viewers into a deeply emotional and thought-provoking exploration of humanity. Born and raised in Michigan, she spent much of her career leading and managing manufacturing companies, including founding her own business serving the automotive industry. After retiring to her home along the Delaware River, Love fully embraced her lifelong creative passions, developing a distinctive style defined by bold color, heavy texture, and layered symbolism. Her art is both a personal journey and a social dialogue, often drawing on her lived experiences and reflections on love, resilience, and justice. Love holds multiple degrees from Macomb College in Mount Clemens, Michigan, yet is largely self-taught in her artistic practice, relying on years of experimentation to refine her unique three-dimensional painting technique. As a transgender woman and longtime LGBTQIA activist, Love has worked alongside legislators in Washington, D.C., advocating tirelessly for equality and human rights. Her art continues this mission—merging personal narrative with universal themes, transforming each piece into both a visual statement and a call for compassion.
