I have been a professional artist for over 40 years. I started my career as an Illustrator, and switched to painting after an injury. I have been gallery represented, co owner of a co op and a member of numerous co ops. I have done numerous group and solo shows throughout my career. My work can be found in private collections around the world.
My inspiration comes from a variety of sources but the women I paint are an homage to my maternal grandmother. I spent a lot of time with her in her garden. While she worked, I talked to the birds and butterflies. She gave me a blouse that was a favorite. Their collars represent that blouse even though they look nothing like it.
I started drawing with my sister after she drew on my homework numerous times. She has autism. I drew geometric shapes that are present in my abstracts.
I am the caregiver for my sister Rose now, and she is also an artist.
