I call my vision: Art in expansion. I make figurative abstract paintings divided into modules. These figures, reunited in the form of installations, suggest the pieces of a puzzle that I am trying to connect using bold colors compositions and organic precise freehand lines. I want to defy the viewer's credulity in the abstract artistic field. To do so, I paint these high-definition machine-quality lines by hand.
My art is about the instant, an innate rhythm where the apparent complexity gets reduced into a dynamic flow. I try to challenge spatial limitations to show that the world is a whole in movement. The beginning and the end of things always find a point in common. Besides the disruptions and the impermanence, the system shows a capacity for transformation that proves resilience. Everything lives in expansion, differentiated and connected at once.
The study of Japanese aesthetics, the behavior of Mother Nature, and the tribulations of the Human Condition are constant sources of inspiration. Important influences are Joseph Albers, the hard-edge painting movement, the architecture of Zaha Hadid, and the contemporary parametrical design.

Nerea Azanza is a Spanish emerging contemporary visual artist based in Paris.
Due to her background as a scientist and restorer of Cultural Heritage, she is passionate about managing different materials in the space, looking for patterns, developing mutations, and visual cloning.
Nerea Azanza has a Ph.D. in Fine Arts, and an MFA specialized in Conservation-Restoration of Cultural Heritage by the Fine Arts Faculty of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM, Spain) where she studied with the artist Antonio López García, and also worked as an art teacher. She has been Preventive Conservator and Restorer of wax anatomical models at the Anatomical Museum of the Faculty of Medicine of the UCM, and at "The Museum of Human Evolution" (Atapuerca, Burgos, Spain) in collaboration with Professor J. L. Arsuaga.
Back to making art in 2018, she is a semi-finalist of the COCA PROJECT 2020 and has worked with artists such as Philippine Schaefer and Anna Uchiyama among others. Her work has been exhibited in collective exhibitions in Spain, Chicago, New York, and Paris, and published by galleries in Basel and Spain (ModPortrait). Her first solo show took place in 2021 in Paris with Galerie Estrella.
