Janica's art is contained in the thematic determinant "You can't buy the sky and the warmth of the Sun". At the same time it is the primordial message of ethics and alignment with the mythical Icarus, but not as a symbol of ascent according to the absolute but more as enthusiasm with the Sun. For Janica Šterc, this enthusiasm is either in the genes or it is about some interference, old ancestral knowledge of nurturing of the Sun and the Sky .... there is nothing to take her away from the family nest, as she does not allow herself to be deceived by appearance and .... she is curious, as a feminine and painterly ... Her imagination does not need forced stimuli...it is original, true and convincing in every image that captures the beauty and power of the Nature.
Janica graduated School of Applied Arts in Zagreb, and later on graduated at the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb. Even though she mastered Law, she kept nurturing her love for art and artistic expression. Paintings are the song of her soul, with words and verses she enriches her paintings and with her paintings enrich her poems; writing and painting about beauty, goodness, joy, friendship, togetherness and love. She is a member of the Croatian Society of Fine Artists (HDLU) and other painting associations.

Upcoming Exhibition: Along the streets of Zagreb, at the Mimara Museum in Zagreb, Croatia.
This exhibition rounds up my 45 years spent in Zagreb, both my students and adult years, through which I have been admiring the architecture of the city of Zagreb. As I am relating my life events with the architecture around me, I have focused on the vibrant parts of the city, including railway stations and squares, as well as calming site-plans like promenades and gardens in the city centre. The exhibitions consists of 40 paintings - windows into the simple beauties that have stayed with me throughout my life.
