Well Well transforms discarded materials — reclaimed wood, salvaged doors, found objects — into layered, pop-infused works that feel as immediate as street art and as considered as fine painting.
Working from his studio in southwest France, he begins every piece with the raw material itself: its dents, stains, and weathered grain. These aren't flaws to work around — they're the starting point. What gets built on top draws from the expressive symbolism of Basquiat, the rhythmic energy of Haring, and the assembled spirit of Rauschenberg, filtered through a sensibility that is entirely his own.
The result is work that blurs the line between painting and sculpture, between cultural commentary and pure visual pleasure. Dogs and skulls recur as quiet stand-ins for the human experience. Doors become thresholds — literal invitations into Well Well's world.
His practice is built on a simple conviction: nothing is finished being useful. Not a plank of wood. Not a pop icon. Not a visual language handed down by the artists who came before. Everything can be picked up, reconsidered, and made to speak again.
