I was born in Paris in 1953. Painting has always been part of my life, because my father, a teacher, made documentaries on painting. My main inspiration is nature, even if my paintings are abstract. We can sometimes guess in my paintings signs, sketches which recall what we can see in landscapes. I look for balance and liveliness, the execution is rapid, but with a time for reflection which is sometimes quite long. We can talk about abstract expressionism, and baroque for certain paintings. There is no scenario, the painting is built gradually from the colors and tensions of the initial lines. As with calligraphy, the gesture must be right and reflect the emotion of the moment.
