Marco Guzzardo, professionally known as Marco G, was born and raised in Rome Italy and set off to the United States at the age of 18 for furthering his education in the United States. He began painting at the age of 6 where he experimented with different mediums from ceramics, murals, wood carvings and more. Marco G opened his first retail fashion store at the age of 23 in Georgetown called “Ultimoda” and spent the next 24 years as a fashion designer living in New York and Los Angeles with his own successful fashion design business called Marco G Designs where he sold his 3 different designer labels in the United States, South Korea and Japan. During this time, Marco developed his current painting style to be more geometrically surrealistic with a linear edge always using color tones as the mood. Each piece he paints has a philosophical message revolving around life. “I was inbred with Italian culture from birth learning proportions and colors from the start of my life. Colors excite me as I can put almost any story line into color and lift one’s spirit which shows how important perception is in our lives. We are living in an online computer age where shapes are linear due to the medium of a screen’s pixels so combining the impact of diversity of our current era with colors and softening the intensity with curves and circles gives one’s eye a dive into a spacy emotional visual world.” In 2005, he began purchasing property in Los Angeles, California where his career as an Interior Designer took off at the same time he was designing clothing. To date, he has designed and guided the construction of the interiors for 4 restaurants, 14 fashion designer showrooms/offices, 3 hotels and the majority being private homes in the United States, Portugal and Malaga,Spain of where he has been selling his paintings to private clients from every corner of the world.
