Catarina Kolsmyr

I'm a Swedish artist. I was born in Sweden, Hälsingland, which is a beatiful area located in the middle part of the country.
The nordic light and the nature is a big inspiration for me, and I also get inspired from personal experiences.
I also find my inspiration for my paintings when I traveling to different destinations. I have spent some time at the Laguna beach arts colony, California, which was a great opportunity for me to build art connections.
I started to paint in 1994 and used aquarell in the beginning, but soon I realised that painting in oil are the expression for me.
In the beginning of my art career I painted mostly realistic landscape and
portrait. After a health problem my style developed and become more modern
and colorful, and I enjoy to feel the energy of the colours.
I have been working as an art teacher for some years, I have also run my own company in sales.
After planty of years I decided to sell my business and focus on what I love to do, paint and feel the joy of life.
