Teresa Pereira

Teresa Pereira is a painter, high school art teacher, graphic designer, and muralist who lives in Yonkers, NY. She graduated from Fordham University, College at Lincoln Center, with a BFA in Fine Arts, where she was awarded the Studio Art Award for painting.

She’s also a community art teacher, and holds art workshops in local libraries and for the Hudson River Museum. In addition, she’s an active art exhibitor in galleries in the Westchester area and its surrounds, and has had work exhibited at Harison Public Library (solo show), The Gallery at ArtsWestchester in White Plains, The Edward Hopper House in Nyack, The Rye Free Reading Room (solo show), The Riverfont Gallery in Yonkers, and The Carriage Barns Art Center in New Canaan, to name a few.

She is also a member of the National Association of Women Artists and the National Art Educators Association.

In teaching art over the years—especially to teenagers—she has learned a great deal about her own art. Witnessing the experience of “learning to make art” is continually an eye opening one, and she believes it has helped her expand her own skills.
