Timothy Murphy

I'm a self-taught digital artist who started creating in my late 50s, working in pop art collages and geometric compositions. I came to this work with a commercial mindset: rather than creating art and hoping to find buyers, I work backwards from what spaces and clients actually need.

My portfolio serves two distinct markets. The pop culture collages—vintage advertising, bubble gum wrappers, baseball legends, atomic-age graphics—work in entertainment venues, hospitality spaces, and anywhere that wants cross-generational appeal and cultural energy. The geometric work—Bauhaus-inspired circle grids and abstract compositions—fits corporate offices, medical facilities, and contemporary interiors. I approach vintage imagery as cultural archaeology, preserving the visual language of mid-century Americana without nostalgia or irony—just letting the graphics do their work.

Everything I create is fully customizable: substrates (canvas, metal, acrylic), sizes, framing, even color adjustments to match specific spaces. I work to the trade for designers and consultants, and I'm always interested in projects where art needs to solve a problem—whether that's energizing a pediatric waiting room or adding personality to a corporate lobby.
