Mauricio Diaz

I am a Colombian-Canadian artist based in Vancouver. My practice centers around painting and drawing, exploring themes of personal perception, mental health, and the social construction of identity. A key focus of my work is the human body, particularly the male form, and how it is viewed through the lens of the male gaze and shaped by social media. Through this exploration, I aim to question and reflect on the ways bodies are seen, interpreted, and represented in contemporary culture.

I have a background in both architecture and fine arts, with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Diploma in Fine Arts.
