Viktor Vámos

Viktor Vámos is a contemporary painter with Hungarian roots, originally from Ukraine, currently living and working in the Czech Republic. His work explores the emotional depth of the human figure and portrait, focusing on inner states rather than external likeness.

Through expressive color, layered textures, and confident gestural marks, Vámos creates paintings that balance realism and abstraction. His practice is rooted in figurative painting, often centered on the human presence — moments of stillness, tension, vulnerability, and quiet strength. He works primarily with acrylics and mixed media, allowing spontaneity and intuition to guide each composition.

For Vámos, painting is a process of connection — between form and emotion, structure and freedom, the visible and the unseen. Each artwork is conceived as a self-contained visual statement, inviting the viewer into a contemplative space where mood and meaning unfold gradually.
