Charles Jaffe

In 1972, I spent about 25 minutes in the Fine Art program at the University of Toronto before being kicked out.

After my university experience, I wandered the media world as a cartoonist and illustrator for literary, satirical and trade publications.

While working at commercial illustrations and political cartoons, I spent as much time as I could painting and photographing, free from practical exigencies and the demands of clients.

Now that, for me at least, the print publication career has dried up, I can explore more intensively the directions I set out on decades ago, to see where they finally lead. The work on this website, and others associated with, it is the result.
