Connie Phillips makes her home in the mountains of southeast Oklahoma, deep in the heart of the Choctaw Nation. She has explored many mediums, including ceramics, leather, watercolor, and photography but her favorites are acrylics and oil. Her favorite subjects are the stories of women, specifically those who have survived hardship and overcome. She also loves researching and painting the legends of the Choctaw people. Connie's roots are steeped in the cowboy and western lifestyle as well as in her Choctaw heritage, and you'll find that both have a strong influence in her work. She grew up on a small cattle ranch and has been involved with the rodeo and the cowboy lifestyle for most of her life. Connie is proud to be listed on the Choctaw Artist Registry and the National Source Directory of Native American Artist. Her art can be seen at the Ohoyo Fine Art Gallery located in the Treetop Wellness Spa in Hochatown, OK.
