L Martinez

Martinez channels traditional techniques while considering the human form with a pointed, feminist perspective through symbolism, humor, and tension. A university teaching artist, an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation and Brand Boeshaar awardee, Fellow of the VCCA, VSC, Crosstown Arts, and two-time Regional Arts Commission Artist Support grantee, Martinez has been reviewed in the Boston Globe and exhibited in Ireland and the United States including Suffolk University, University of Missouri St. Louis, Boston University, as well as the Figge Art Museum, Danforth Museum of Art, and the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis.
