The formation of the oceans, the origin of water on Earth, sedimentation, fire, magma, formation of coal, of planets, accretion, geological phenomenon ...
I mix organic, mineral, the elements and various displays of these elements.
My work tends to connect the world to beings and things, to form a whole, an entirety.

About my work: "What seems like chance or serendipity actually reflects years of honed skills in measuring, blending, searching to find what responds to my inner sense of how colours, light and dark, compete - tensions release, conflict and resolution - an echo of life - its journey of holding back and letting go - paying attention to the tiniest detail and seeing the broader picture at the same time. Over my varied encounters with art viewers I have found that a work of art doesn't only exist in a vacuum and once it leaves the scrutiny of meeting my original conception it acquires a dimension through "conversation" with the observer and their impressions, questions, reflections. It is the ultimate witness to the fruitfulness of my creative work to see such reactions and to share in their varied interpretations."

Painter of Lyrical Abstraction since twenty five years, Layla was encouraged by her father (himself a painter) it started at very young age, according to her artistic sensitivity, to oscillate between pencils and brushes. Art is an integral part of her roots. After graduating from the French School of fine arts she presents her works in galleries, in Switzerland, Germany as well as in France and on the Atlantic Coast and in art fairs throughout France and exports to Japan in Tokyo, for example. A colorist at heart, Layla ROUGAN, works with color and transparency in her search for light and color tone to then create an unusual palette of colors intended for a new work. Layla creates works borrowed from many emotions. Irremediably registering in the process of pictorial research, Layla projects herself into lyrical abstraction. While new colors are imposed, the use of matter gives her works a volumetric dimension, all this irremediably orients towards emotion, towards the vibration that the observer receives from these sublime canvases. Layla does not paint with her hand, nor her arm, Layla paints with her heart.
