Maree Mccrum

I am an Australian artist who grew up in outback red dirt NSW. My inspiration comes from this earthy upbringing and from my positive outlook on life. Now living in Wagga Wagga, I am constantly striving to create bright bold colours and works that tell a story. My art is full of texture and I focus on feeling rather than realism.
Abstract landscapes and mixed media are my passions as they allow my creativity to flow freely.
At times I feel I need to rein that in and gain control - those works are easy to identify and flow through different bodies of works.

I am inspired by Monet and Van Gogh. The bright earthy hues of Pro Hart and the vibrant early works of Ken Done ignite an energy that can cause me to paint for hours at a time. My works are an expression of individuality, respect and story telling.
