Muse Painting

Hello, my name is Mihai and I am a Ph.D. student, at the University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca, working and living in Cluj-Napoca. My work focuses on the impact that expression and gesture can be mixed to shape the basis of my paintings. Thus the abstract pictorial setting is created in an explosion of gestures, the recurring motif is the geometric shape. The combination of Expression and Geometry can be a representation of equilibrium: a balance between the agglomeration and the still surfaces of the paintings. Most of the geometrical shapes that I use in my paintings are inspired by one of the most standard elements, the rectangle, which I've adapted and transformed into an impossible form because of the existence of illogical plans. The impossible geometrical shape exists only in theory and can be materialized only on the two-dimensional support of the painting.
