Burcu Sahin

, Burcu Sahin (BURC) graduated from TED Ankara High School in 1974 and from the State Academy of Fine Arts in 1980. She practiced as an architect until 1996 when she decided to devote herself to painting. In her painting, she attaches importance to light and darksurfaces and the role they play in completing the identity of her subjects. Exploring images, dreams and desires, she depicts the condition of women whose freedom is still being argued in Turkey in 21th century. As will be evident, she always seeks to stay this side of art. She lives and works in Istanbul.
