My name’s Anna. I am an artist and an animator based in Minsk, Belarus.
Although I do computer graphics I personally favor traditional mediums. Nowadays, it’s mostly graphics for me, though I’m also interested in painting and various mixed media. My experiments with form, technique and materials are, first and foremost, a way to expand my horizons and see the unusual in the mundane.
It is my opinion that inspiration is in everything, be it the works of great masters or random blotches of ink on a scrap of paper. I draw inspiration from a multitude of historical periods, from the cave art and the masks of the ancient tribes to the modern conceptual art. I also find it important to pay attention to a variety of modern art movements, especially the experimental and the avant-garde.
I personally adore frame-by-frame hand-drawn animation, where line becomes a living thing and the characters are life-like.
I’m in the constant search for new forms. From blending various styles I discover something new, something of my own. The mystical and the grotesque, that’s what draws my attention. The archetypes and symbols, the works of Carl Jung. I am drawn to the circuses, to the masquerades and the fares. They to me are a complex, sarcas...

I draw since early childhood. I studied in college to be a designer. After that - in an Academy of Arts making huge canvases, stained glass, mosaics and wall art for 3 and a half years. At this point, I felt like branching out and experimenting with different art mediums, dance, music and painting. I felt like I needed something more, so I switched to doing animation films. There I began learning frame-by-frame animation, from ground up. It’s hard, repetitive work that won’t suit everyone. Every single frame has to be hand-drawn, time and time again. As my mentor would say: “You will regret coming into this craft your whole life, but you won’t be able to leave. It has reached the very depths of your heart.” That’s precisely how I became now only an artist, but an animator.
