Beate Fahrnlaender

Beate Fahrnländer was born in Leipzig in 1965, where she attended the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig as a teenager and made first experiences with painting and graphics.
After leaving the GDR in 1988, she lived and worked first in Berlin. In Berlin and Paris she studied graphic design with focus on illustration.
After a four-year stay in the USA (SanFrancisco), she now lives with her family in Lörrach.
Since 1996 she has been working as a freelance illustrator for publishers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Since 2009 Beate Fahrnländer is also teaching art for children, young people adults at various facilities.
In 2011 she resumed painting, now works in her studio in the Kesselhaus in Weil am Rhein and regularly shows her art in exhibitions.
