Jared Nathan Crane

My creative process is an endless cycle of strategy, improvisation, rest, and reflection. It is intuitive and experiential, as I aim to play with the borders of interpretation by allowing room in the work for contradictions between hostility and humor, elusiveness, tactility, sophistication and clumsiness. The imagery functions as a purveyor of moods, personalities, and emotional resonance. In lieu of the manufactured products that are revered by our industrially driven society, they are the unapologetically strange artifacts of an individual’s creative will.
