"Hi, I'm Marie-Pierre Goudreault. I paint to transform doubt into clarity, chaos into serenity. My work is about creating spaces where strength becomes calm — and where the eye can finally rest."

Marie-Pierre Goudreault (born in Quebec, Canada) is an abstract painter based in the Greater Montreal area. Her work revolves around inner traversal and the search for balance, through acrylic, ink, and charcoal. Working primarily on large formats, she builds her paintings in successive layers, alternating spontaneous gestures with deliberate erasures. Her pictorial language is organic and fluid, rooted in Asian painting philosophy and the tradition of lyrical abstraction.

Her work has been presented at major events including the Bromont en Art Symposium, the Mascouche Arts Festival, and La Route des Arts. In 2022, she won the 1st prize Abstraction – Emerging Artist at the Mascouche Arts Festival. Her painting Lorsque le ciel me traverse was acquired in 2025 by the City of Saint-Eustache. Her work is also recognized internationally by the Camelback Gallery in Arizona: Finalist Award for Shades of Red in 2025, and Bronze Award for Shades of Blue in 2026.

In April 2026, she is a guest artist at the Thetford Symposium.

Marie-Pierre Goudreault holds a Diploma in Graphic Design from Collège Ahuntsic in Montréal, where her interest in colour and visual composition first took root. She went on to build a twenty-year career as a graphic designer — a practice that kept her close to creativity while she quietly prepared for what would come next.

Her formal training in abstract painting began with intensive courses and workshops at Caroline Archambault's studio in Saint-Sauveur, where she explored abstraction, gesture, colour theory, Chinese calligraphy, and natural pigments, among other disciplines.

She has also pursued her development through a series of online courses with internationally recognized artists, including Sam Boughton, Joy Kinna, Kasia Kręcicka, and Caren Ginsberg.
