"My visual narrative of ordinary thoughts and experiences are reflected in my work. I feel that the need to make art is an intrinsic part of me, and this necessity to create is almost an obsession. In my work I represent parts of myself that I have managed to create before the thought is gone or the experience forgotten."
Born in Sri Lanka in 1985, Mika Tennekoon completed her HND in Visual Communication at the Academy of Design in Sri Lanka and is currently studying for her MFA in Khala Bhavana, Santiniketan, India.
