Nataliya Kucher is a Dutch artist. Born in 1971, she was initially inspired by Russian painters Kazimir Malevich, Wassily Kandinsky and later by artworks of Western painters such as Hans Hofmann, Jackson Pollock, Helen Frankenthaler.
Kucher’s paintings display an interest in abstract surrealist automatism, impressionism and expressionism. She often mixes styles in her artworks.
That is why it is almost impossible to associate Kucher with a definite art movement. Her paintings are filled with abstract masses, shapes and forms. In her artworks Kucher follows Frankenthaler’s statement that “A really good picture looks as if it’s happened at once.”
