Niqui Carter is a Los Angeles-based Artist, who originally trained as a painter. Carter uses a camera to create new forms and perspectives that could easily live as an abstract painting. Cater combines digital processing with a documentary approach to abstract the urban landscape surrounding her. This practice gives her the freedom to explore the way the light touches an object and the ambiguity that exists in the shape of a line or curve of a shadow. Carter brings her paintings to life through her photography.
