Daria Shabadash

I am a Ukrainian contemporary figurative painter exploring light and atmosphere.

My work focuses on the relationship between light, movement, and quiet emotional moments.

Working primarily in oil, I am drawn to the human figure and the expressive power of gesture and color. Dramatic lighting and subtle shifts of posture allow my paintings to capture fleeting moments that feel almost cinematic, where the figure becomes part of a larger emotional atmosphere and a quiet sense of narrative.

Living by the Black Sea has shaped my sensitivity to light and changing moods, which often appear in the tonal contrasts and luminous color of my work. Through painterly brushwork and carefully balanced compositions, I aim to create scenes that feel intimate, poetic, and open to interpretation.

I have participated in several exhibitions in Ukraine and continue to develop my visual language through the exploration of light, atmosphere, and the emotional presence of the figure.

I am a self-taught artist with a background in engineering. My artistic practice developed through continued study, including art school training and private art classes. I have also participated in several exhibitions in Ukraine, where I had the opportunity to present my work to a wider audience.
