Mike Twichell

I can tell you the inside scoop on Mike Twichell, since he is me and I am him. So to begin I would say that I am a unique, multifaceted, and creative individual. I am an engineer, musician, painter, cartoonist, author, self-proclaimed astrophysicist and gravitational theorist, and father of two wonderful boys.

My father Seth Twichell was a successful architect who influenced me in art. My mother Beverly Twichell also influenced me in art by forcing me to take 10 years of piano lessons! At age 18 I moved from North Dakota to Arizona where I attended ASU, studied Engineering and became self taught on guitar. I have written thousands of songs on guitar. For some reason lyrics come out of me with the guitar, yet on the piano just the notes. On the piano I have created some beautiful music as well, under the alias of "Twichovski".

It wasn't until probably about 2003 that I discovered my love for painting! Now I paint whenever I have the opportunity. Always abstract and acrylic on either wood or canvas. I have very little control over what happens when I begin to paint, unless I draw it first. I never paint small, the bigger the better. I have little patience for much detail.
