Rosanna Mecklenburg

Rosanna Mecklenburg's work features portraits, figures and landscapes that are bold in color, contemporary in approach, and expressive in emotion. Rosanna inspects and interrogates both landscape and portraiture with an exquisite curiosity paired with an expressionistic gesture, leaving us with just enough detail to get context and enough space for interpretation. We become invested in the characters and the settings of her paintings, and we want to know more about the story.

Rosanna's art education began at her home in Bozeman Montana, where she was raised by her entraprenuer parents who were artists themselves. She spent time posing in her mothers art studio, and learning technique through private drawing and painting lessons. Most importantly, she was surrounded by a love of all things art. As a young woman, Rosanna studied art in college at MSU (Montana State University), along with English Literature, Women's Studies, and Secondary Education.

Rosanna Mecklenburg's works have been showcased in two Montana Galleries. Her hometown Wilkins Art Gallery at The LAC (Lewistown Art Center) has displayed her work and promoted her as a prolific emerging artistic in 2019. She was also showcased as a solo artist in her Moment in Time Exhibition in 2021. Rosanna's art was also showcased at The Dana Gallery in Missoula in 2021 where her painting Teepees in The Breaks was displayed in the front window on Higgins Ave.
