David O'Brien is an Irish artist, whose work is predominantly contemporary figurative painting and portraiture. He co-founded the Sandymount School of Art in 2007 with artist Triona Sweeney. David's work focuses in equal parts on the micro expressions of circumstance and the celebration of the minor triumphs of everyday life. He is currently working on a collection entitled 'in celebration of the small animal,' represented here by 'Te' and 'Market.' Work is in collections in Ireland, Netherlands and the USA
